Melissa Hurd, MD
Dr. Hurd is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has been practicing in North County since 1998. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern California and her Doctorate in Medicine from Tufts University. Prior to opening her own private practice in 2010, Dr. Hurd delivered care in a variety of settings including nursing homes, a public clinic, and a private small group family practice. She has worked as a hospitalist and has worked as a hospice physician. She enjoys taking care of patients of all ages and appreciates how much continuity of care is essential for good health. When not seeing patients, Dr. Hurd enjoys gardening, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
Sheila Patel, MD
Dr. Patel is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has been practicing in North County San Diego since 2007. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Wisconsin Madison. Before joining Dr. Hurd’s practice, Dr. Patel practiced family medicine primarily in rural settings including … Alaska and Hillsboro, WI. For more than a decade, she practiced full-spectrum family medicine, from prenatal care and deliveries to ER coverage and primary care for all ages. Dr. Patel has worked as a hospitalist and as a wound care specialist. Sheila Patel is passionate about bringing holistic healing practices into the Western medical system. She currently is the Chief Medical Officer for Chopra Global and splits her time between working in Family Medicine and her duties at Chopra Global.
